cant zero at 400 max elevation, 20 moa and burris zee rings

im still 8" high at 400 yards, id like to zero rifle at 200 yards

i have burris signature zee rings with 0" inserts
20 moa nightforce rail

scopes bottom out on elevation and im 8" high at 400 yards

would changing the insert on my zee rings help? leave zero top and bottom in the back and put a +10 on bottom front and -10 on top front ring?

Not trying to insult anyone's intelligence, but I have to ask is your rail installed properly? Thick end at the rear of the action?

Yea it is, not sure why on my dasher apparently has 20moa built on the panda action and I can shoot at 200 yards never tried at 100, so maybe my nf has slightly more cant or my nf scope adjustment is slightly different
40moa elevation adjustment with 20 moa rail should bottom out or be close though

Somethings just not right. I have 20(in using the inserts) and can zero @100 with room to spare (12x42 BR). They didn't send you a 40 moa base did they? edited to correct 30 moa base to 40 moa base

+1 What scope is it? I've got a couple scopes on 20 moa bases (one old 1" that doesn't have a ton of adjustment) zeroed at 100 yds. Seems like something weird is going on.

Nightforce benchrest 12-42
Scope from top to bottom has 38-39moa adjustment
No I'm pretty sure they only offer zero and 20moa

0, 20, 40 Moa bases are available from Nightforce. My mistake on the 30 moa.

you need about 6 minutes to get down to 100 so if you put the .010 inserts in one of the Burris rings you should be able to get down to 100 with 3-4 minutes to spare and have about 35 minutes up which should get you to 1,000 unless your shooting a 308,,

if you put the .010 inserts in you will have the same amount of up on the knobs if you zero at 100 or 200,,you will still max out at the same place,,

I have two of those exact scopes. Both on Dashers, one is on a 20 moa rail and zero's flawless. The other is on a flat rail with Burris Signature rings and 20 moa inserts. No issues their either. I can get 100 yard zero near bottom of scope adjustment or within an inch.

Agree with others, either barrel, rail, action or ??? is not right.

not sure the guy i got the scope from said he had it zero'd at 300 yards with a 20 moa rail that was at the bottom of the scope adjustment, so not sure action is a new rem action, 20 moa nightforce rail, barrel may have droop not sure it shoots good lol
