I was fireforming during a 600 yard Benchrest match yesterday. New Dasher rifle. Was trying different magazines. None would feed properly. Realized I was missing a piece of brass. Searched but no find. Got home and was going to try to modify a mag. This mag is an American Rifle Company mag with a 419 bottom. Took the bottom off and my cartridge was inside. HOW?

The original followers in the ARC mags are known for tipping pretty bad, particularly with a short cartridge
like the Dasher. They'll tip enough that a round could fall under the follower, especially if there's not much tension on the mag spring. I've got a couple with the LRI followers that are great with standard size rounds. They're just "ok" with a BR case. PVA made a BR sized spacer for the ARC mags, but not sure if they still do or not.
