Can someone tell me what kind of snake this little guy is?

Looks like a DeKays brown or midland brown snake. Hard to tell how big it is but I don't think I've ever seen one over about 10" long. Harmless little guys.

Thanks Trapper, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a copperhead, don't mind the non-venomous snakes but don't want the venomous kinds around because of the grandkids.

I immediately thought it is what we called a watersnake. Sort of looks like a moccasin (cotton mouth) but the head and tail are not the same. Also, not poisonous.

C'mon guys after reading up on the DeKays Brown, he's welcome to stay. Main diet Slugs, mites and earthworms. If he eats all the slugs, the skunks will leave the area. Living in the mountains, I have to share with a wide variety of critters, I don't mind but some I tolerate better than others. ;)

It is interesting how emotional some people are about snakes. I have only killed one in the last 30 years and it was a copperhead in the dog kennel. We have a couple of very nice black snakes under our porches, judging by the shed skins in the 6' range, and they take care of the mice and copperheads.
I just watch my step when getting rid of a beer after dark.

It looks like a typical water snake found here in Pa. They can
be aggressive but harmless. Any wet lands nearby ??

Looks like a baby black rat snake, they aren’t black when they are young.

^ This, I'd say.

Juvenile black rat snake (if of a smaller size). Or a gray rat snake. Or an eastern rat snake. Eastern Rat Snake is common in the Poconos.

All of ya'll that think snakes are welcome, how about we ship them to your house and they can live with you.
Ask people who have had snakes in their house if they want any more.
There are no good house snakes, to clarify. But those critters will keep mice and other pests away and are harmless. I live on my farm. I've got plenty of snakes but have only seen about 3 venomous snakes here in 54 years, that I can remember. Some snakes will keep the bad ones away too.
