I started another post in the "gunsmithing section" about difficult extraction after firing. I am not seeing pressure signs, and have never heard of this being a possible sign of excessive pressure. I am also getting difficult extraction at lower powder charges as well. I'm headed to the range to see if .003 shoulder bump helps, but this might be a differnt post all together.
Anyways I am shooting a 22PPC with and 8 twist 24" barrel using 75 grn A-Maxs. I am getting great accuracy with the following loads:
1. 26.5 grains of Benchmark at approx 3150 FPS
2. 26 and 26.5 grains of 8208XBR at approximately 3000 and 3050 FPS.
If you have time could you run some other powders as well? What does quickload say is the "optimum" powder? I would like to see around 3100 FPS but I would like to know what the "numbers" say are realistic.
Thanks,
Mitch
