I just want to get started on loading 120 grains sierra match kings for my shoulder which is getting worse.I need the better selection of powder and primer.I have a 26" barrel, shilen select match, savage platform,1in8 twist. It is in a bvss stock and bedded with a rifle basix sav2 trigger. I tried on big calibers but a couple guys went off on a tangent about the 123 amax.I realize it is a similar bullet, but looking to anyone who has used the combo in the past.I have alittle nosler brass left and lots of remmy brass to work with.It is a no turn neck. Thanks to all that can help. Jon

with 123gr A-Max I used 44 gr H4350, 46.5gr H4831SC, I used 47gr H4831 on 120gr SGK, you have 1:8 twist which is suited for more heavier bullets, currently I'm playing with 139 gr Scenars and 142 SMK and RL-17

With 100 or 120 Ballistic Tips, H-414 works real well in my Rock 8 twist.

The amount's up to the barrel.......

I have a sts lrt chambered in .260 24 in. broughton 5c barrel. I using 42.7 gr of h4350 on 123 amax's and 123 smk hpbt's remmington brass and winchester primers. 139 scenars and 142 smk I'm using 44.5 gr of h4831sc . these loads shoot lights out in my rifle.

I shoot 39.0 grains of Varget and the Sierra 120 HPBT in my 200 and 300 yard high power loads. It's good for about 2890 fps out of a 27" barrel.

I would start with Varget and Big game. Both shot very good in my 260, far faster than I could ever get with 4350 and other similar powders. I rechambered it to 260 AI before I had a chance to try R17 but this powder really woke up the 260 AI.

I killed my first antelope with a 120 Sierra pro hunter bullet out of my 260. I used a stiff load of Varget. As stated, h414 is really good as well.
