That is not always true. Some brass is bigger or smaller in the back end. If you use the small brass in a big chamber you will lose primer pockets. If you use the big brass in a small chamber you will get bolt click and extraction problems. As an example Win brass in a WSM is smaller then Norma. It is enough difference to make trouble. A lot of Lapua brass is a different size also. Life gets easier when the reamer matches the brass and the die matches the reamer.
