can Eliseo R5 be set up as switch barrel between 6mmbr and 308win

I've been looking at a tube gun Eliseo R5 in 6mmBR in my future. I was wondering if this could also be used as a 308 win rifle if I got a barrel for it. I know the Eliseo R5 is meant for the 6mmBR and comes with magazines and sled for the 6mmBR cartridge, but could one possible run it as a 308win single loading rifle with just a barrel swap? or would I need to get a sled made for the 308win?

Yes, The loading port and sled are normal short action size. I had these guys http://accurateordnance.com/ build mine to be able to switch barrels. They glue in the action and eliminate the recoil lug.

I have the exact same set up. 6BR and a palma barrel, I mostly shoot the palma barrel but I have switched it a few times. If you want, I purchased the R1 lower piece and that has a universal round holder on the lower piece. But before I did that I used the sled with that came with the 6BR. I'm getting ready to put a 6SLR on mine.

So I guess there is no need to get the R1 "lower" and I could use the 6mmBR sled for 308win. did you ever have problems feeding 308 single loading using the sled?

btw, how do you swap barrels when your action is glued in to the chassis? pics would help if you can. I imagine that you have a special action wrench from somewhere in order to torque the barrel to the receiver/chassis.

This is the one I use on my TG! My action is glued in as well. Mine was also built by Accurate Ordnance.

Mine isn't glued in so I just take the action out. Haven't had any problems feeding from a sled. However I rarely use it. The R5 lower is for the 6BR for XTC and the R1 is for the 308 for long range. Haven't had any problems switching barrels once I started using a tourque wrench.

I too am contemplating rebuilding my Rem700 into a Eliseo chassis and making it a switch barrel also. My 700 is a 6BR but I want to redo it with the Rem/Sav barrel nut system so I can also use a 260 Rem barrel. I was told by Gary that a lot of shooters are now going this route with his chassis system and that no special modifications are required.
