Can a Sako TRG be used in Calif?

My team is already planning for the March F-Class National in California. I want to send an F-TR team this year also. But I had an inquiry I could not answer. Three of the shooters use Sako TRG-22 rifles. These are bolt action but they do have a detachable magazine. Can they bring them to California to shoot without getting the rifles confiscated and themselves arrested?

Bolt action rifles have few restrictions here in Ca., it is the semi auto centerfire rifles with evil assault weapon features that are restricted. Your TRGs are good to go.

Jlmurphy is correct. While I have not seen what Schwarzenegger might have signed today; as of yesterday, we could still shoot bolt guns.

Please remember this does have a threaded barrel for a muzzle brake. Although they have been removed to comply with NRA rules. Is a threaded barrel a problem?

Last thing I want to do is get 20K in rifles confiscated. I have read horror stories of guys just changing planes in California and having their rifles confiscated.

Threaded muzzle not a problem, I shoot a High Power match locally, many of the rifles have removable magazines and muzzle brakes. Your fear is not unrealistic, it is appalling how little many of the L.E. personnel know about firearms regulations, and of course there are so many regulations written by lawmakers who know even less.
