Can a guy switch coatings?

I've ran moly for years, we all have heard you can't just up and try naked bullets in a moly coated barrel.

My question, can a guy switch from hbn to moly w/o negative side effects?

I bought 2k coated dtacs,(hbn), now may want to switch to a 105 hybrid and am not about to have 2 separate coating operations going on.

Moly is typically a "top" coating. hBN is a penetrating coating. A moly treated barrel is only effective if the projectiles are also impact coated, otherwise it only works for 6 to 10 naked projectiles before the Moly effect is gone. Same for hBN. A slurry sealed bore requires that the projectiles be ICPs, otherwise the bBN sealed bore is only good for 6 to 10 naked projectiles.

Remove hBN from the sealed bore (or ICPs) with 100% alcohol. Remove Moly with "Wipe-Out"
