The weatherman is calling for 10 mph winds from SSW to WSW. Everybody who has shot on Range 117 knows what that means. Stake down your mat and bring heavy bullets. [br]

We had a great time this weekend with several new shooters and challenging conditions. Saturday, Range 117 showed about 75% of how bad it can be and Sunday was about as good as it gets. The headwinds Saturday ranged up to 25 mph, with rapid switching of about three minutes (7mm Mag). There was a lot of sun and it got pretty warm for this range. Range 117 is only about six miles from the Pacific and winds come right up the valley from the coast. Sunday was overcast and headwinds much milder, in the range of 6-12 mph. Still switchy but not as vicious as Saturday. Results will be posted on the Santa Margarita Gun Club web site this week. [br]

Rocky, I'll put up another notice before the 6-7 July match but, tell the other Arizona folks that we have two more of these before Raton. The August match is 3-4 August. These are regular High Power Prone matches and are open to Palma, Match Rifle and F-Class.
