California sheriff reverses order closing gun stores

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva announced he will no longer order that gun stores be temporarily closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

For the second time, he said that gun stores could reopen after ordering them to close twice since last Tuesday. He had previously deemed them “nonessential," saying that panic buying produced long lines and could be a safety hazard for the public.

Villanueva said the most recent decision stems from an Advisory Memorandum issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Saturday that said workers supporting the firearms and ammunition industry were "included in the list of essential critical infrastructure workers."

The good sheriff needs to stop flip flopping around 1st he said they need to close, but enough flak came his way he said they could stay open, Then a few days later he said NO they must close. Now with the DHS and others saying they are vital, he said he would allow them to stay open.
He needs to be a good sheriff, uphold his Oath of Office and leave the 2nd Amendment alone and also gun stores, and let them stay open, as vital business's. Especiallly in light of Gov Newsome releasing thousands of criminals from prison, of which many will return to the present situation, with no jobs, etc. and start to further their live of crime on streets and victims in California. That's one of the primary reasons I left the Bay Area back in the early 70's, and have never, ever looked back!

I've had my CCW now for that entire time here, and get it renewed every five years without any hassle whatsoever. There are much better places to live than Kommiefornia ) break-out when/if you can!

I called the local gun shop this afternoon, looking to see if they are open. Closed, but they answer the phone, I think if your 10 days is up you can pick up your firearm.. So I asked why they are closed, it's supposed to be up to the Sheriff, and our Sheriff is a gun - CCW friendly guy. Well the powers here knew that and decided its a decision for HHS, the guy in charge is a MD. He decided the gun stores were not necessary.

I was going to forage for small pistol primers and some powder to load a bazillion .38 wad cutters, not that I need them, I'm just board and now the wife is talking bathroom remodel.

Kill Me, really.

The heck of it is they’ll release real criminals under color of health risks from the kung flu but will throw you in the slammer for violating one of their edicts! Which is it govnah, you can’t have it both ways!
