Cabela's employee discount offer

I'm sure others got this offer in the mail or via e-mail. Take the coupon to a Cabela's and at checkout receive the "employee" discount. I would have to drive a couple hundred miles to the closest Cabela's so the discount would have to be pretty good for me to justify the drive.

Anyone know how much of a discount Cabela's offers to their employees?

On most items it is 25%.
It can be less on certain items.
I usually wait to buy my big ticket items until one of these sales comes along.

I was hoping it would be a little more than that and if I find myself in line and it is less than 25% I would be very disappointed. For most bullets, powders and other stuff I can find it cheaper than Cabela's sells it at even 25% off.

Too bad they didn't carry Nightforce scopes. 25% off one of those would be a deal. I suspect they don't apply that big a discount to stuff like the high end optics they do carry.

It varys from 10% to about 35% the best is on cabelas brand items. everything in the store is marked down except bargin cave items. I bought a pelican 1750 case, I think it was marked about 220.00 and I got it for 185.00. good deal but not great. Clothing is the best deals. Nightforce scopes will never go on sale. even at midway usa if you read the small print the rebates are for all items except nightforce products. Bummer

Attempt to use it, but it wasn't worth it compared to a $25 dollar off if purchase is over a $100. RL15 savings were $1.00 per pound and Lapua brass was something like a couple of dollars off. Then again Lapua brass from Cabela's is priced at $65/100. Better deals else where.
