Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14x44 or Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 AO for 17 Fireb

I'm looking for a scope for my Rem 700 Varmint in 17 Fireball. I need to keep the scope cost to about $300, so I'm interested in the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14x44 and the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 AO. I definitely want an AO (or side focus) scope, and these two fit the bill. For those in the know, which scope would you rather have for a 17 fireball (shooting out to 300 yards or so) and why? Any other scopes in this price range I should consider? Thanks!

I would try to find a better quality scope used and they are for sale everyday. Try to get a used bushnell 3200 or 4200. or a used vortex viper. Take your time and try to get a scope that will work for you. I have a burris fullfield 2 in 4.5x14x40mm and I like it a lot even though it is made in the phillipines. I was distraught when it arrived but after using it on an ar-14 it turned out to be decent for the money. Check out natchez and they just had them on sale for right around 300.00.

The Diamondback 4-12x40mmAO is an excellent scope for moneys spent. It’s what I buy instead when I’m feeling too cheap to fork over the bucks for a similarly configured VX-2.

the bushnell legend is a very clear scope i have four of them and i like them they trac good and the point of impact do'snt shift very nice scope for the money
