Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5 x 30 power

Has anyone tried one of the new Bushnell 6500 4.5 - 30 power scopes? Interested in a good 600 - 1,000 yard prone scope and not sure what the quality of these new scopes is, or if they have enough internal adjustment for long range prone shooting.

Thanks,
Ed

We have received some mixed reviews. Most of the people do like the scope, but we have had a few that were not to impressed with the scope for the money. The 4.5-30x50 has 50MOA.

Ed, I think you'd be impressed with the value and performance of the new Sightron SIII. In either 6-24 or 8-32. Call Jon for a price. The Optic Zone is a good outfit. :)

I was a little disapointed. I am new to all the terminology used here, but I will do my best to describe what I think. I purchased the 6500 after liking the 6-24x50 4200 I bought last year. The 6500 is nothing more than the 4200 is except for the magnification. Sunlight whites out the cross hairs, hard to see clearly with the higher magnification, darkens considerably with higher magnification and eye position is critical. I expected the push/pull turrets to be capless,if that's a word) like the Leupold vx7 which they are not. The design is worthless and a detriment in my opinion as the push/pull feature is just a no tool method of resetting the turret. For the price I would go with a Leupold vx3 if I had it to do again or another 6-24x50 4200 for less. I only paid a 600 bucks for my 6500 so I don't feel too bad, but if I had paid full price I would have tried out bushnells money back warranty.

I tried one, it went back for warranty due to poor image quality. Next one came back, same basic problem. Poor high magnification image, tended to be a bit foggy at all magnifications. I have always had superb luck with the 4000's and 4200's, but this model seems to be lacking. I suspect the original specs. were probably different than what is leaving the factory today.

Looked good on paper,.... go figure,....
