Bushing size

anyone using 338-339 redding neck size titanium bushings with Lapua brass and the berger 185g molly VLDs for their 308, Tried using 335-336 bushings which seems to be tad tight when seating and accuracy not great however when i use 272 Ti bushing with 105g berger &lapua 243 brass which is very light neck tension accuracy is outstanding which seems to suggest light neck tension with berger molly vlds way to go.

No molys. I'll have to check the tension tonight.... I think I'm getting .002... but I usually only check it when the feel is too much or not enough.

What size bushing for 308 Lake City brass? Is there a recommended neck wall thickness that I can plug into the math equation to determine the correct bushing size. I will be using Sierra 168 Matchking's and shooting 100 to 300 yard matches and the occasional 1000 yard Milk Jug Challenge. The rifle is a Savage model 10 (1-10 twist) 24" heavy barrel. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I run a .336 Redding Tin bushing with Lapua brass but I did a slight turn clean-up down to .014 neck thickness.

Bullet diameter + 2(neck wall thickness) - .002ish

So if you have a .014 neck wall: .308 + .014 + .014 - .002 = .334

Go smaller for more interference fit, larger for less.

Alternatively, simply measure a loaded round at the neck (which will be bullet + 2neckthickness), and subtract a couple thousandths.
