Burris Zee ring 10 MOA question

I'm mounting a Leupold a VX-3 8.5-25 on a 6BR. Although I doubt I will need the extra elevation from a 10 MOA or 20 MOA base, or in this case ring adjustment, since I'm using Zee rings, I'd like to go ahead and give myself an extra 10 MOA. I know a lot of you guys use Zee's, and I've used them too, but never to gain elevation, just with the 0 inserts as I like the rings. So before I mount this scope I want to make sure I have this right.

To give myself 10 MOA of extra elevation the rings should be set as follows:

Rear +10 on the bottom, -10 on top
Front 0 on both top and bottom

To go to 20 MOA it would be:

Rear +10 on the bottom, -10 on top
Front -10 on the bottom, +10 on top

So, do I have this correct, or am I off somewhere?

Thanks much!

Steave,

In general you are correct. Except the amount of elevation gained in MOA is dependent on how far apart the rings are mounted. The offset inserts are sized to provide a dimensional offset. When you buy the set of inserts, there is an instruction sheet that should specify how much angular change is provided with the rings a specific distance apart.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

Just to confirm, though, the way I indicated setting up the off-set synthetic spacers is correct?

Thanks again!

that should be correct . my angle base is high at the rear . so you want the thick spacer in the bottom on the rear . Jim
