I would like to know where you got them from. I sure could use a couple of sets. Thanks Russ

I went to Fastenal and ordered some hex head replacements for the crossbolt. Does anyone know what to torque them to? Thanks in advance.

Dallas Jack,

Do a google on std tq values for the applicable grade of bolt it is and the size, should find a table for that online. If not there are alot of hardware reference documents out there and Fastenal should actually have something. But pretty sure google will cough up something..

A google search led me to several tables. All called for 12.1-12.7 in lbs for the 6-40 in stainless. This seems a little light. I think I will go with at least 20 in lbs. Can always change it later if need be.

The best thing to do is drill out the hole to the tap size for a 10-32. then drill one side for a clearance hole and tap the other but it only works for a picatinny rail. then get 10-32 cap screws to fit. works better than that little screw. with the 10-32 i torque to 65 in. lbs..........jim
