Burris Scope for Deer / Recommendations?

I picked up a Burris Timberline 4.5-14X32 scope a few years back and it has become one of my favorite scopes for hunting. It has excellent low light performance that is crucial for hunting deer and hogs and it is nice and small at 11.5 inches long and with a 32mm objective.

They have a decent reputation for hunting scopes. I have an older Euro Diamond that is super clear and bright on a 30-06, it holds it zero.

the new signature series has ED glass in a burris that would be super bright..I have a 8x40 with the double crosshair and I really like it

FFP is perfect on a medium power hunting scope.
When you know the bullet drop of your rifle/load as it relates to the reticle it will always be the same at any power.

I own quite a few burris scopes on different hunting rifles. Fullfield 2s in 3-9 and 4.5-14, a veracity ffp 2-10, my brother has sevral that i have used as well.
Tbe fullfield 2s have good optics, and they hold zero once settled in, but tracking isn’t always perfect, sometimes they take a few shots to settle in. They also have a limited adjustment range, i use burris rings with inserts to rough sight in as close as possible. Tough to beat for the money, doesn’t seem to be lacking for deer hunting for the range most people hunt at. The veracity has better optics as expected and tracking is pretty good, I am pretty happy with it. I am a big fan of scopes that go down to 2 power for certain situations, I am still on the fence as to weather I like the ffp reticle or not, i just dont have enough time with it to say, BUT Burris does make a second focal plane veracity that was released after the ffp scopes, if you prefer that.
For a deer scope the one my brother has that is probably one of the better buys in the lineup, possibly the industry is the fullfield e1 3-9 with the 30mm tube. The 30mm burris models seem to track better and have more adjustment.

For a 1" tube, I like the Burris Signature Select (Made in USA & no longer produced) models. Or its sister of that time period, the Pentax Lightseeker XL series. (also Made by Burris in the USA) Super clear glass, quad o-rings & dual leaf-springs to hold zero. The only downfall is they are a little on the heavy side.

I have a total of 9 Burris handgun scopes and 6 Burris rifle scopes which includes my newest addition a Burris XTR II 5x25x50 Illuminated 34mm tube scope that I just picked up. All of my pistol scopes have the Posi-lock system on them. Great glass for a lower to mid-range scopes. Excellent lifetime warranty if you need it. I have been using them for over 30 years on everything from a 338Federal down to a 22 hornet. You can't go wrong with Burris

The glass and reticle in the new Burris Signature HD 5-25x50 is superb. Glass competes with my $2000 Japanese HD glass scopes. The laser etched 2nd focal plane reticle is perfectly sized for precise aiming at long range and not too busy. Cant speak on durability of mechanics since I haven’t put the scope on any heavy hitters yet but the turrets have nice solid clicks. The zero stop is a nice feature as well. As far as the glass goes, you can’t go wrong with the new Signature HD for price. Glass is a good step above the more expensive Burris XTR-II scopes.

Own and use multi0le Burris scopes for hunting. Mostly 2-7 and 3-9 Fullfield 2's on a variety of lever, pump and bolt rifles to 338 Win Mag. All have worked perfectly for decades.

Also use some 4-16 Black Diamonds, Signature and a Veracity. That's for the serious long-range hunters.

Depends on the way you hunt. I have Burris RT 1-6 on one of my deer and pig rifles. When walking through the woods it is on 1 power for quick shot. Sitting in the woods I crank it to 6. I rarely take shots over 100 yards, even my open field scopes ( Trijicon 2.5-10 Accupoint) are usually at lower power settings for better light gathering and quicker acquisition of target. I think Burris and Trijicon are superb and underappreciated scopes.

You’ll really like the glass in that scope. It’s a ton of scope for the price and can’t beat the glass unless you want to spend $2k or more and even then you wouldn’t gain much in glass quality

I look forward to receiving it> They said it was in stock, so maybe it wont be too long b4 I will be able to look thru it and "Find What Matters!"

Between my friend and i we own 5 Burris Fullfields.
2 are Duplex reticle.
3 are the E1 reticle.
All are the 4.5-14X42.

Really quite a nice scope for the money!
These are PERFECT, size and Power "range" for, Deer and Elk and fairly LIGHT, too !
Buy, the LEAST "Busy" Reticle for, Hunting Big Game ( Duplex plus,.. the 4,.. "Hash Marks" ).
Think it might be, the Ballistic Plex,.. IIRC
Shot my last Elk a few weeks ago at, 90-100 Yards on about,.. 5 Power, in kneeling position, over Stix.
We have about, a Dozen, Burris Scopes and they KEEP our Tikka's,. LIGHT, weight !!
