Burris pos a lign

Can someone tell me how to set up the inserts in pos a lign rings so I can get on target at 1,000 yards without running out of elevation adjustment in my scope? Thanks for any information. Danny

Steve Ivey makes rings and a one piece rail that will adjust enough for 1000 yd. shooting. I have one of the one piece 150 moa rails on my 6mmAR and it works really well. I don't have any place to shoot 1000 yds. but I wanted that particular rail so that I could just leave my scope adjustment at center and still shoot 500 and 600 yds. As it turns out I only had to turn my windage one click to the right to be zeroed at 100 yds. and I adjusted the micrometer on the rail for elevation. Steve's e-mail address is sales@iveyshooting.com and phone # is 615 424-8855. Just a note. Bill

I just finished setting up a rifle with the Burris Signature rings. It was a short action Remington with a Weaver 36x one inch tube scope. I wound up using a +20 in the bottom of the rear ring and a -20 in the top of the rear ring. That didn't quite get me to where I wanted to be and I needed to center a little left to right so I put a -10 in the bottom of the front ring and a +10 in the top of the front ring. These I turned at about a 30 degree angle from upright which took me to about where I wanted to be. So, I used a total of maybe 27 or 28 moa with a little horizontal correction thrown in. Using a bore sighter with a grid helped trememdously in getting to where I wanted. My scope now has a 100 yard zero that's near the bottom of it's vertical adjustment range and plenty of room for elevation to well over 1000 yards and it's optically centered horizontally. With that setting I'll be a little below a vertical optical center at 600 yards and a little above center at 1000 yards. That should give the best repeatability on adjustment range I hope. That's where I wound up,right or wrong) if that helps.
