Tried one once on a T-36X Weaver. Not impressed. Sent it back. Didn't see any improvement and overall it made the sight picture appear darker. There's an article in accurateshooter.com which calls attention to this phenomena.

i run bulzeye boosters on all 3 of my NF 12-42's. they boost to about 60x. [compared to SIII 10-50, at 50x. they were way more powerful.]

the problem 'most' folks encounter are 1. wrong power booster,
2. improperly focused - on reticle.

folks tend to go with the highest power, which when put on scope, the reticle fuscus cannot be adjusted properly - 'bottoms out' you have to return it and get next lower pwr.

or- a number of shooters i've talked with don't fucus at all. and wonder why they don't work.

for myself, i have to use 3X. on one scope there is about 1/2 turn remaining on fucus bell, the other 2 have about 2 1/4 turns on bell. when my eyes get worse, i will have to change again -- NO MAGIC BULLET!

don't forget that in very warm areas, when mirage is up, your going to have to turn power down in order to see.

for further answers, locate your nearest dealer.

I checked their site earlier and they weren't saying. But other reading leads me to believe the 3X increases magnification by 30%.

I have used them on Weaver t36s and I like them. The advantages are: they do offer a boosted magnification, that is super clear, depending on the booster you use and what coatings is on it, it Will make mirage easier to see. Disadvantages are: it will shorten eye relief, meaning you have to get closer to the scope, and if you free recoil you have to pay attention on the distance or get scoped, it will magnify the size of the cross hairs, but it is hardly noticeable.

I tried one on a NF 12-42, did not help me, has a lot to with your person eye vision, I ware glasses, far sighted. no help to me, but my son found it to be a silght help to him, we bought 2, both 3X, I sent mine back. I think they do not raise the power of your scope, just magnifies the image coming out of the scope. Could probably do the same with CVS reading glasses, maybe I'm all wet on this but thats my opinion.

I've used them for F-Classon Leupolds for what seems like years now with nothing but good things to say about them and Bill.

You can't just buy one and slip/screw it on and think that's that, you need to do your homework on what will work for you, not everyones eyes are the same.

82boy,
Your right in the "shorten eye relief", but this is not a disadvantage in F-Class as there is no Free Recoil, for myself in F/TR I use a special adaptor for the Bulz Eye booster to shoot zero eye relief.
As far as "magnify the size of the cross hairs", it boosts the intire sight picture of the scope, making everything seem larger not only the cross hairs. If you talk to Bill he can, and will work with you on what should work and how to set it up for the use intented.

I believe the percentage of increase is correct, but a little deceiving. If you have a NF 12-42 and put on a 4x magnifier it magnifies by .4 so the low end of the scope power is 12 x .4 = a 4.8 power increase. And 4.8 is 40% of 12. 42 power x .4 = a 16.8 power increase which is also 40%. So your NF 12-42 becomes a 16.8-58.8
