Bullseye Powder in Chargemaster

Link

Gold $$ Contributor
First time Reloading some 45acp's in a few years. When I opened the drain to my chargemaster the powder didn't want to flow like it had static electricity. The powder is quite old, is this normal, if so I might try a different powder.

Pretty normal. Happens with other similar powders too. Wipe the inside of the hopper with a used dryer sheet. Won't stop it completely, but cuts down on the amount.
This ^^^^^

When I used my ChargeMaster, the only time I had powder in it was only during the time I was charging. I never left powder in it overnight. Besides wiping the inside down with a used dryer sheet, I'd keep the dryer sheets in its powder bay until I got ready to charge cases; this way it reduces any tendency for the powder stick to the sides or to clump while sitting around for some reason.

I’ve successfully run a ground wire from the nearest outlet to my powder dispenser and scales. I have to touch it to keep powder from “sticking” to the funnel some days.

Never thought about a used dryer sheet, I think I’ll try it.

If you read the tips from RCBS it says to wipe the complete unit down anti static cloths or dryer sheets. It will throw varying weights if not wiped before using. I was sure mine was toast till it started wiping it every time i turn it on.

Get yourself a good condition used RCBS Little Dandy powder measure and the drums you will need. They generally are available on ebay. Excellent consistency and real easy to use. JMO
