Bullsbags

I haven't noticed any prairie dog shooters out in the field using Bullsbags or something similar on their shooting benches. Anyone have any experience with these bags at all?

I use a bipod and rear sandbag. Some of the rifles I look at for sale don't have enough angle on the buttstock for the rear sandbag to move them up and down enough for dogs. Some are parallel to the shooting bench top.And they are not real common actions like Rem,win, etc. I thought since with Bullsbags you don't use a rear sandbag that may be a way to go,A good example is the Nesika in the classifieds now with the metal Sinclair stock.

I have one. I don't use it too too much. A rifle set up with a mcmillan or manners stock for a bipod and sand bag doesn't fit real well in them, the stocks are too wide. Rifles that have thinner stocks and are straighter that you don't really put a bipod on much work well in a bullsbag... stocks like most factory rifles... the sides of the bag lock in the stock nice and tight much better... When a rifle does fit in the bag good though it is nice to shoot with. I use a rear sand bag sometimes with the bulls bag too.. the regular one wont fit an AR platform either... its too low. I filled mine with play sand and its PLENTY HEAVY! no need for heavier sand. They take a lot of recoil out of a rifle too when they are locked in... It's nice, just cant use it for every rifle...

They work just fine with hunting stocks, I use them a lot while deer hunting with a LR hunting handgun out of the condo..

The first shooting match I attended one of the competitors used one on the ground with his 222. He did fairly well if I remember right and from what I could see it was as steady or better than some of the benches/mechanical rests. Haven't seen anyone use one since then. I got one since none of my guns are fitted with a bipod but haven't tried it yet.

Any of you guys who have the original Bud's Bull Bag, who would like to sell them, please PM me. I'm not interested in the Caldwell model.

My wife has one of the large original ones. She shoots her Mod. 700 heavy barrel .308 that is in an old 40X rim fire prone stock out of it and loves it as long as I carry it to the line and back for her. She has shot in the mid 190's in our 300 yard club F class matches with it.

She has had it for many years and it has a few racer tape patches on it but it works well for her.

Coonhunter said it. I have one of the original Bullbags and it’s works great off the hood of a truck.

+1 on the Dog Gone Good bags. They soak up recoil and really help you see your shots through your scope!!

I have no opinion on bullsbags either way, but damn, that is a pretty piece of wood. Wow.
