Bullets That Shouldn't Be Available Are

I have a 308 that shoots its best with Hornady 168 grain A-Max bullets.I was under the impression that they were discontinued,and was ready to start working with some other bullets to try and fond another one that it has a taste for.I was on Midway USA's website looking around and they had the A-Max bullets in stock.I ordered a couple hundred right then.
I poked around there a little more and they had the 168 grain Berger Classic Hunters that I use in my 280AI in stock as well.I ordered a hundred of those.Both of these aren't very popular bullets,but they're not really oddballs either.Maybe there's a glimmer of hope after all.

AMax's are discontinued. If you like running them and find some, you should buy all that you can.

The .30cal 168s have been around ever since they said they were discontinuing the Amax line. I don't think they ever did discontinue making that particular bullet. It's probably their cash cow. I have a few clients that still run that bullet and never had any problem finding any through a couple different "shortages" now.

I think there were 2 or 3 a max they were still going to make. I believe the 168 was one of them

AMax's are discontinued. If you like running them and find some, you should buy all that you can.

I have about 300,200 more will last me a long time.That 308 is a 700VTR from Cabela's.It doesn't have a muzzle brake,and the triangular barrel is a full 24 inches.I have a couple other 308's,and I really like that particular VTR,so I don't shoot it very much.I figured there might be someone else who might need some.Trying to think of the next guy.If we all do a little of that,maybe someday we'll be able to buy components again.I only use the Bergers for hunting deer in my 280.I shoot 160 grain TMK's for the long range target stuff.TMK's are basically gone right now,and my old clunker really likes them,to the tune of well under quarter minute of angle.
