BULLET &TRIGGER OPTIONS

I have a Savage model 12 22-250 the rifle is averaging mid to low .2s with nosler b-tips. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with custom bullets in this cartridge. Im limited to 60gr. 1in12 twist. ALSO wondering about aftermarket trigger that would adjust in low ozs. Just trying to shrink the groups a little more.

There has been talk for quite awhile about a Jewell trigger for Savages was going to be made, but so far Basix has the lowest advertised pull weight that I have found. I use my Savage 22-250 for varmits and I wouldn't 'waste' anymore barrel life looking for better than 2's. JimDee

I have a SSS trigger on my 6br Savage and I love it.
Have a Timney on my .22-250 and on my .270, it's better than stock but I wouldn't buy one again. Go SSS or Basix.

If Jewell is coming out with one I would rather wait.Ive also heard canjar has a set trigger for one. The riflebasix from what i have heard is a hit or miss unless they were the early ones.

I have to agree that waiting for a Jewell is the way to go. I have Jewell, Rifle Basix, and SSS on various rifles. The Rifle Basix and SSS are excellent triggers but Jewell is at the top of the heap, hands down.

I've got a SSS on my Savage and it works great. Tried a Basix trigger on my HMR, would never buy another one, they are not safe, lots of slam fires.

Sounds like an issue with your pull weight or not enough take-up. I'd try to fiddle with it a bit more before writing it off. If all else fails, I'll buy it cheap ;-)

I have had a Rifle Basix SAV-2 on my benchrest Savage for two years, 2,100 rounds through one barrel and 2,300 through another. It's set at 4-oz. Has never had a misfire, hangfire, slamfire or any other malfunction. Works impeccably.
