Have any of you done bullet test that you care to share? I understand that what works in one barrel may not work in another. But there may be things that you have learned that could help others.
For the past two years I have been routinely moly-coating and pointing bullets prior to use. I decided to test a new bullet I had just received. I tested them out of the box, pointed, moly-coated, moly-coated and pointed. To my surprise the naked, out of the box bullets grouped best, followed by naked and pointed. I used powders and loads known to work well. This is not to say that with extensive tuning the others would not improve.
What is your experience?
