Bullet sorting

If your going to do one or the other, which do you prefer. Sort by rim thickness or weight? Which have you seen give you the best results?

From what I've read on here and other sites is dont bother, but buy better ammo. thats not always an option do to cost constraints.

As I mentioned in a post in the thread cited above, sorting by rim thickness helps with bulk ammo. For match ammo, don't waste your time. Best accuracy will come with bulk ammo with a rim thickness over 0.039". In the often maligned Remington Thunderbird and similar bulk ammo, rim thickness starts out at less than 0.035" and goes up from there, and there aren't that many out of a bulk box of 500 over 0.039". My sorting tool is a snap gauge type and quite fast, but I save a lot of time by not purchasing bulk ammo any more.... :)
