Bullet seating depth??

I want/need another barrel for a 6BR build. The problem is, I can't decide on a throat/freebore length. Some of the suggestions are .075" & .080". That seems to be a common throat length.
I plan on not going over 80gr. weight bullets.
I am working with the Nosler 80gr. Sp.,BT)
My question is, " How much bullet do I want to extend into the shoulder area"? 55s are out of the question as far as a "jam" goes.
Seems like I can't get a "good" measurement on my Shilen freebore. Long!! Maybe .210?? Still shoots good!,Go figure)
I figure I will probably go with a "dummy Round" for the actual fitting.
Any and all suggestions and opinions are appreciated. And thanks in advance! Mike.

I would set the bullet I plan to use right at the base of the neck/shoulder junction and figure how close I want to be to the lands from that. I would probably set it up,reamer)so I was about .025 off the rifling at that point, and then move it away from the neck to get into the rifling if thats what it needed to really shoot.

Preacher: The opinions I have seen so far is that a "Jam" seems to work best as far as accuracy and keeping the pressure signs off the brass and actions. I figure if I go "short" on the throat, I will still be able to "jam" the bullets after about 1000 rounds and still have a good bite in the case neck.
Seems like my Shilen barrel has the throat going away sooner than I had expected. Still got a good neck bite and accuracy, with the heavier bullets) but the way I burn ammo I'am not too sure how long it will last.
Just thinking/planning ahead! ;) And thanks for your input. Mike.
