Bullet recomendations wanted for a 308 Savage 12FTR 12 twist

I am looking for another bullet to try in my 308 Savage 12FTR 12 twist with a 30" barrel. Right now my best load is Win brass, 168 Amax .001 off the lands, 46 grains of 4064, and Fed Match primers. It averages about .4" at 100 yards. I have tried the 168 SMK and it does not shoot as well. I only shoot 100 and 200 yards, I don't have access to anything longer. What bullets should I try next? I thought that a lighter bullet may be better for these yardages due to it stabilizing faster. Thanks in advance!

hey with a 30 inch tube you should be able to shoot many different weight bullets.my reason for saying this is that a guy at snipershide is useing a 208gn A-max with a 20 inch tube and 1:12 twist.but all so useing R17 to get the speed of 2600fps.and if I am not wrong the charge is 48gn.so with your 30 inch tube you should be able to use less R17 than he is.

but look out for the mule kick it gives if you choose to try it.or a 155gn bullet will work out to a 1000 yards.alot of guys are shooting them with great results.

Berger makes a 150gn flat base bullet. Should be just the ticket for 100-200 yds.
