bullet length and throat size

i plan on building a 6br for mostly varminting and target shooting,,not competion just to pass time between varminting) and realize a smaller bullet would be fine. i want to know what about upping size in bullets: i can obviously see that a 6br loaded with a 105 grain bullet will not fit into the same chamber as a 6br loaded with a 75-80 grain bullet, or will it? im just looking for the most extreme range i could shoot between bullet size, and not have to wonder about the bullet and casing not fitting into the chamber or the bullet itself going too far into the case. thanks again, still a complete newb at all of this!! open to all kinds of suggestions!

Go for the 1:8 twist they shoot everything from 70gr all the way to the heavier 107gr. Contact Pacific tool & Gauge and give them the type of bullet you will mostly be shooting then they will specify the type of reamer you are looking for. I have no problems with fitting different bullets in my chamber, I can run 70-107gr with no issues. Give him a buzz @ http://www.pacifictoolandgauge.com/

sorry but im not sure i understand. can't i get a barrel that is already pre-threaded and chambered and rifled, for savage action) from shilen/bartlien/pac-nor/ect., and have the 6br catridge fit? meaning that if one is able to shoot everything from 70-107 grain bullets, what is the need for a reamer if the barrel already comes pre-chambered? sorry if its a dumb question, im just trying to understand.

thanks!

after a little digging around the forums i came up with some new words, free bore and lead) which i assume mean the same thing. i think i understand what they mean, is it the space in the chamber after the very end of the case that doesnt have rifling? if this is so, will a free bore of .060 let me shoot all the bullets from 70-107 grain? or will a tighter range seem better, say 70-90 grain. thanks!

Yes it will work...Roger
PS,,to answer part of your ??? about needing a reamer....you will need one if you buy an un-chamberd bbl....there is nothing like having your own...all of your dies will work from now on ...and if it is rite ...your brass and sizing problems will dissapear....
