Bullet Exporters

I manufacture custom 6mm match bullets and have gotten several requests to export my bullets abroad. I have looked into getting an export license and find it is cost prohibitive for me at this time. I am looking for someone who has already gone through all the process and actually has their exporting license that might be willing to export my bullets as well as whatever they already export. I would appreciate any ideas on how to go about this as I am a one-man shop, building extremely accurate bullets one at a time, not a great big company with an automated process cranking out tons of bullets, and can't afford the crazy high fees levied by our Federal Government. Please visit my site for further information about my bullets, http://PrecisionBallisticsLLC.com and you can reply here, or email me either at dlahr@indy.rr.com or Bughole@PrecisionBallisticsLLC.com which is on my Contact Us webpage.

Thanks,
Bulletsmith

We manuafacture aluminum products for the butcher industries and have been ask by several customers to ship out of the U.S. We found, as have you, that it is a pain in the rear and not profitable in small quanities. I contacted one of my distributers in the U.S. and they in turn shipped to the customer and were glad to have the business. You could probabley get a distributer to use the system he has in place for 6% or so. He does not even have to be in the field of our sport. Good luck, mabe it will help.....

Here's Randy Robinett's,BIB Bullets) answer to clarify my earlier question on the same subject:

Ian has this pretty well 'doped' - below, is a link to the U.S. DoF page - it may take less time to hire a lawyer, than to read it! Of particular note, about mid-Oct., 08, I was advised be the U.S. State Dept. that unless/until I 'registered' as a manufacturer of arms and ammunition,a DoD requirement - for exportation), they,Dept. of State) would no longer issue permits,to licensed exporters)for the exportation of my products - projectiles, intended for sporting use! This pretty much covers everything from springs/screws, to you name it parts for firearms, ammo/components, sights, etc. Paying the registration fee is pretty much the equivalent of buying ones way onto an 'approved vendor' list. An individual shipping anything [fire-arms related] out of the USA, without meeting the exportation regulations could wind up in DEEP dodo . . . RG
