Bullberry/MGM/Bellm

I have been poking about regarding Contender barrels. I looked up MGM, and Bullberry and note both are Hurricane UT,as is Mike Bellm. Can anyone with first hand knowledge tell me if they are all the same place? Has MGM or Bullberry been bought and are in one house? I can't tell by the website. Any TC guys in the know that really know?? I would rather avoid Bellm...and Jones is outta my price range...

thanks,
Snert

Thanks Bdale...mgm and bullberry appear now to have same address, and Bellm is showing a Hurricane address too....???

I bought my first MGM barrel in 300 BO and couldnt be happier with it. Got mine threaded complete with thread protector. Fantastic fit and finish.

Just got a 454 Casull carbine barrel for my Encore from MGM. It's already shooting sub MOA @ 100 yds.
Top quality workmanship and great people to deal with.

Several years ago, I was having a beer with a couple buddies in Tulsa, OK after a long day of walking through the gun show. We struck up a conversation with some guys at a neighboring table who had commented on our all-things-gun discussion. Turned out it was the owner of MGM and a couple employees. At the time they were just getting started in the business (although the employees has been recruited from a competing company). What struck me was the owner’s almost complete lack of technical knowledge. Seemed as though he thought guns were really cool but leaned heavily upon his employees for just about everything operational. Again, this was quite a few years ago.

Thats not surprising to me. I worked for a family owned priniting company for appox 10 years. The 1st and 2nd generation owners couldnt pick out a barrel of ink compared to a barrel of grease. Without the employees they were lost.
But on the contrary, they were extremely impressive when it came to making a customer commit to a sale, something i could never do. It was at that point I gained mucho respecto for them.

The owner of MGM is also the owner of a well established Stucco Company in St. George Utah or at least was 4 years ago. I believe he had the funds and bought it on a whim. He is a gun guy but not a gunsmith but I am glad he saved it from going under. Employees that came with MGM were all former employees of Bulberry and or Virgin Valley. Besides the Contender stuff they also are very very good at clambering, contouring and anything also gunsmith related. I know a couple of Bench Rest HOFers in the Southern Utah area that used them.
