Bulk Chromite Sand?

I need somewhere in the range of 50lbs-100lbs of Heavy Chromite Sand.

Does anyone know of a source where I can buy a bulk amount of Chromite sand?

I found it local to me by checking around with the places that use blasting cabnets. Called them and got the name of the supplier they use. Then just called them direct.

Are they using Chromite sand in the blasting cabinets or blasting sand (Coal Slag)?

I know foundry's will use Chromite sand, but I'm not familiar with anyone local.

You need a foundry that does Brass or Bronze casting. If you talk nice to them they will sell you some.

Used lots of chromite sand in the 30 years I worked in iron foundries also used in steel foundries due to its high refractory value.

Goggle US Silica Corp. and see if they can put you onto a user close to you.

This may not help and it's not what you asked but I looked all over when filling my rear bag and ended up using garnet sand which I believe is very similar in weight with chromite. I got mine from tractor supply for $25 for 50lbs. I believe most of the big box stores carry it.

I was at a shoot a day. All input has helped.

Garnet sand very well could work. I haven't heard of many using it, but that price is very affordable.

I have several leads to look into come Monday.
