Using a 700, Shilen trigger, McMillan stock, and a #4 contour 8 twist Shilen. It will have the new Swarovski 6X18 X5 scope. He will shoot Alan Warner's new solid copper 200 grain bullets.
My Buddy has a shooting bench set up at 1000yds from his feeder. He shoots hogs.

The Warner bullet is on the left and a 210 Accubond on the right.

That is one long bullet, it probably would not stabilize with a 1-10" twist. Interested to see what the performance is at 1,000 and byond.

My shooting buddy is shooting 200 class cutting edge solids outta 300 rum 10 twist with great results out to 1500 yards. Great caliber!

The copper bullet is much longer than the lead core bullets. I had a post on the ballistics's forum. I think the G1 is a 780BC at 3000fps. My Bud will have to single shot them as they are .300" OAL longer than the long range 210 Accubonds that he is now shooting.

Butch why an 8 twist and not a 10? Seems a little fast.

While I prefer a 9 the 10 usually works but I think his buddies solid copper bullet demands a faster twist than a standard bullet.

As pictured the bullet is .710 into the case. Alan saw this and recommended that we seat the bullets out further to get the full .308 into the free bore. It will be seated out another .325. We will have a OAL length of 4.265. It will have to be fed singleshot and will surely need an 8 twist.
