I'm looking to build a 6mm ar. I'm looking for an upper like Robert whitley sells, the dpms rigid upper. Does anywhere sell that as a stripper upper or something similar? Would a standard upper be as accurate hanging a heavy 26 inch barrel off?

Are you going to build a side charging upper? IMO that's where the billet and heavy walled receivers are nice. If a standard charging upper, then any stripped milspec upper should be just fine. My match rifles all use standard uppers, even with 5# barrels hanging off them.

6x6.8 is a great cartridge, easy to form brass and easy to load (straight neck down, like the Practical). It is similar to the 240 tomahawk, 6WOA, and others.
