Thats alot of money for a stock!!!
Have you ever made a hand-laminated stock? My stocks took me about 60 hours each, and I did a simple brushed polyurethane finish with no paint. Raw materials, using standard wood, ran me about $150.

What do you think a fair cost is for a specialized low-quantity, hand-made stock? Does that price allow the stock maker a decent living, or do they need a “real job” to pay the bills while they make the stocks on their free time?

Didn't say it wasn't worth it ..I said it was alot of money..There a difference

Still have one March. I use the NF42 that was discontinued on all my bag guns. I used to shoot all March. You should have good glass on Every March for what they cost. I looked through a friends new March High Master the other day. The only thing High besides the price was the QC person that tested it. Related to Stevie Wonder I believe. I mentioned it needed a fast ride back to Japan.

I have one of those
I still havent sent it yet . What a bunch of hoops to send it to Japan

Most of these custom guys also use catalyzed urethane which is super expensive, toxic and labor intensive to compound out.

I just weighed a Robertson stock that just has a basic inlet and it weighs 24.62oz complete with alloy buttplate
It will get a bit lighter before bedding once the cutout for the trigger and trigger guard is done but will gain a bit with bedding.

I forgot about this lil carbon fiber number I did a couple months ago.
For the life of me i can't remember the guys name who made it.
I do know he's out of Washington state.
Let me figure it out....
