I would love to get into 22lr competitions, but don't want to spend a forture on a gun! I didn't realize they could go up to $4,000 dollars.

Gun alone: what could I buy around $1,000 and stay competitive?

A used Anschutz 54 is always a good choice for under a thousand.

Or Vostok. Definitely under a thousand. and shoots with an anschutz 64. There's a gunsmith in NC, Loggins Gunsmithing, i think around Charlotte, that customizes anschutz and vostok's. They shoot awesome.

Try to find a used 40x, plenty of triggers. stocks, scope mounts .
