BSA scope?

I just finished building a custom rifle on a 700 action. I want to shoot it with a BSA scope on it until I can get the Leupold that I want. The gun is chambered for .300 WSM. People have told me that the recoil of my rifle will shack the scope to death and it will come apart,is this true?

Yes.

In a nutshell they are not very solid at all. bought one and the turret for the elevation came off the gun. The retailer took it back and exchanged it. That one broke, this was on a 243. You might have better luck but when I have 2 in a row there is not a third in my future. Good luck with the BSA.

My experience with BSA Platinum and Contender scopes are just what was mentioned earlier. The recoil will destroy them! and yes BSA will replace them however who wants to gamble when it will fail again....AND IT WILL FAIL. I sold all my BSA scopes and went with Leupold & Weaver T series. Save up and buy a quality scope, it will be time well spent.

Bushnell Elite 3200 Compact 3X10X40 is your best bang for the buck. It is made for a short action. Optics are very clear, nice looking scope and not much money. It will suffice until you rat hole the money for a Leupold. It will take the recoil. I could get you one for about $200.00 plus actual shipping.

No way on gods green earth would I ever waste good money on a BSA scope to put on anything.....
I though that a straight 24X would be nice on a short range XP-100 rear grip---

WRONG !!!!
I couldn't hardly see through it unless it was really sunny and high noon...
JUNK pure and simple........

Pestshooter I have one on a 17 HMR. On a bright day it is fine in lowlight it's terrible.

Have you seen the junky takeoff tasco's that are in the tubs at all gunshops that sell for about 15.oo I would rather have one of those HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have several of the bsa platnum scopes on a 223 a 22-250 a 243 and a 300 win mag. and they have been a grea scope for the money. there has been no problems out of any of them. my friends have the same scopes with no problems either.
every scope maker somewhere along line has there problems.
i have a leupold on a 204 and had to send it back because the windage was moving around. you could put the gun in the vise put a boresigther on it get a reading and then smack the side of the gun and the crosshair would move 4 lines

bsa brand name used to be motorcycles, which back in the day 50s, 60s, were about as good as the rest of the stuff back then. went together with triumph motorcycles in the early 70s and they went out of business about 83. bsa scopes.... i would take a tasco way before a bsa, but i wouldn't buy either one. a good scope will last a long time. a bad one will go to hell just when you need it to work. buy nice or buy TWICE. cliffe

Consistent repeatable P.O.I. along with durability. That's what a scope is all about! Quality built is the bottom line, skimp there and failure is sure to happen. stick to quality brands!!

BSA= been screwed again

No personal experience with the scopes, have read lots of POOR reviews and would not use one on my firearms.

Your mileage could vary, but will probably be poor :nono:
