Brux 6 groove 308 barrel.

_20170123_180943.JPG I'd like some opinions on the brux 6 groove 308 barrels. I just purchased a new brux barrel for a 308 build. I assumed it was a 4 groove. After I had it chambered I noticed that it's a six groove. This is my first build with a brux and I'm concerned about the extra grooves. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this type rifling. Thanks, Dennis

I have two Brux .308 6 groves, a 10 twist and a 9.5 twist. Both have been accurate shooters. The only advantage I've seen was delivery was about a month for both instead of much longer for a 4 grove.

Thanks... Is the longer wait for a four groove due to more demand or because brux produces more 6 groove??? Thanks again Dennis

When I purchased both barrels, a couple years ago, they were just getting the 6 groves into production. The option I was given at the time was 4 groves in about 6 months or 6 groves in 4 weeks. Both barrels have performed very well, couldn't be happier. And, I will say this, they clean easier than any barrels I've ever shot.

The 6 grooves are a shorter lead time because when the set the machine up to do the 6 groove 338 and such they just knock out the 30s at the same time to save and extra machine setup. If you want a 30 cal brux, a 6 groove will generally get it to you faster
