Bruno McMillan weight

I have a new Bruno McMillan BR stock and was wondering if weight can be added to butt before I start drilling. What material is in the butt? Thanks for any help.

If it’s a heavy stock, probably epoxy filled. If a lightweight then it is foam filled…

Called McMillan and they said it could be drilled and weight added.
Thanks to everyone for the responses.
I’ve done 2 using diving shot and epoxy pour thru 3/8” hole. You’ll want to try to keep the added weight as low as possible.

What size is the weight. Od and length. My butt stock is the diamond pattern so probably put it in the center of the butt as it is a little bigger there. Thanks
That gun is long gone, so I can't give you any solid particulars. It was built as a LG/HG switch barrel. Basically it was set up for the 1 1/2 pound weight in the back, and a 1 1/2 pound heavier barrel, to keep the rifle balance in check when going from LG to HG.

Thanks for the information. I’m using the stock to make a 13-1/2 lb. 30BR. I’ve weighed all the components to be used and I’m going to be about a pound or at most a pound and a half light.

If you add a weight similar to alf's, beware the foam is not very strong. Would recommend glue in inserts (aluminum/brass) for the but plate screws and a sleeve (tube) for the weight to slip into.

Does your stock already have the removable cap with weight tube in the center of the but? If so, a lead or brass bar in that (1/2”) will add ~12oz. If you want to splurge on tungsten it will get you at least a pound….

No my stock doesn’t have the weight tube like the McMillan Edge.
It will need to be drilled and using a tube for the weight will probably be the way to go. I have barrel shank pieces and copper tungsten we can turn and use as the weight. I also have the brass and aluminum inserts for the butt plate screws.
