Folks,
We use a variety of browsers to build and test the site. The majority of our readers use Microsoft Internet Explorer,IE). However, we recently downloaded the latest version 1.06 of FireFox,Mozilla) for Windows. It beats IE hands down.
We can say, without a doubt, that FireFox will deliver a faster, better Internet experience for you.
1. Pages display and refresh faster with Firefox. We noticed FireFox displays 6mmBR.com about 20% faster than Internet Explorer, using a Verizon DSL connection. It is also faster with dial-up connections.
2. FireFox offers tabbed browsing, so you can quickly navigate between multiple pages.
3. FireFox is compact,4.7 megabytes), and FREE. You can download it here: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
4. FireFox has built-in "Pop-up blocker" and better security provisions than Internet Explorer.
We aren't the only folks who like FireFox. It was a PC World 2005 Product of the Year, it is the Forbes "Best of Web" choice in browsers, and the CNET Editor's Choice.
We also use the Opera Browser. It's not as fast as FireFox, but it has a very good built-in mail program. This way we can bypass using Microsoft Outlook Express, with its many security holes. Opera has some very nice mail features. For example, it automatically categorizes emails that have pictures or attachments. Everthing comes into the main mailbox, of course, but click a small icon and you can get all messages with a picture attached.
Do bear with us a bit. Each of the browsers has some formatting quirks. Sometimes if we build a page to look perfect in IE it doesn't look quite right in FireFox, and vice-versa.
We also recommend you set your text size to "medium" when using Internet Explorer. This is the "default" setting, but a few people using "smallest" text have seen some formatting glitches.
