Browning A-Bolt Medallion

Are the .22 rimfire Browning A-bolt Medallions decent shooters ?

Or is it a crap shoot like a lot of factory rifles ?

I had a bolt years ago it went down the road for mediocre accuracy. I hear the 22 magnum version a bolt is a shooter. I just recently came up with a A BOLT GOLD MEDALLION that I have to go scope up and shoot. I am like you maybe this time I will get lucky and get a keeper. Definitely a keeper in the looks department.

What is a fair price for an A-Bolt Gold Medallion these days ?
In what caliber?

Coworker just bought one used through private sale in 270 Win for $900.

Another friend recently bought a White Gold Medallion REMF in 7mm Rem Mag for $1,800 used.

Where as i recently bought an A Bolt SSA in 25 WSSM for $459.

I saw one in .22 lr listed on another forum for $1,700 recently. A bit too rich for my blood. Up in Anschutz price range. Anschutz are more likely to consistently shoot well from the start. Many .22's that will shoot for less than that much $$$ investment.

.22 rimfire

That one on that other forum is way overpriced in my opinion for a quick sale. He just threw a price at the wall to see if it would stick to it. I bought one the first of the year at Amoskeag auction house It was 99%+ condition and equals the looks of the rifle listed. I think I have with fees and shipping complete a little less than 1300 dollars. I thought I paid enough but wanted it worse. Like one poster said for accuracy you can find a anschutz and I would bet it will outshoot the Browning.

Blue book shows the A Bolt gold medallions made in 22 lr from 1988 to 1996 with a last msr of 570 ish.
blue book has some good info but in the case of the value for this rifle it is all wrong. A bolt gold medallions are very scarce and when you find one in great shape you will pay at least double what that book says. I had been searching for one for years till I found mine in the condition I wanted.

I don't buy blue book a new every year, so it was an older blue book. I also quit at quoting the last manufacture suggested retail price. It also depends on what area of the country one is in, as to how reliable blue book is. Where I'm from we refer to the blue book price as the California price.
