Brownells has blemished Remington Model 7 Receivers 219.00

If this is improper I apologize and will delete sounds like a decent deal if someone is in the market

Very Respectfully

I bought one of these. But beware, by the time you add a trigger, recoil lug and bottom metal your cost will go up a bunch before barreling or getting a stock. I found out Model 7 parts are not nearly as readily available as M700 parts,

I disagree , I bought a few, by not having all that stuff I can put on the better aftermarket components like a cg extreme trigger and ptg aics bottom metal and not have to eat the cost for stuff that I would have to try to sell , at a loss.

So, the 700 triggers will fit?

I'd use mine for a custom build match rifle, no safety or bolt release required.

Yes, only difference is the action screw spacing , hence they have their own bottom metal and the rear screw is the middle screw from a 700.

The Rem. Model Seven has 'limits'. It won't accept an extended box, like a Wyatts. It's not a SA Rem. in disguise. Cartride OAL is limited to std. SA mag box length. The bolt stop is remnant of the Model 600 series, but a bolt stop release has been added to the Model Seven. Scope mounts for the Model Seven are unique to that model, those for M700 are not interchangable. The Model Sevens Brownells have are with a .223 bolt face. There's not a lot of 'used' bottom metal to be had, for a bit of a discount, like there is for the M700. Extraction timing is just as bad on the Seven as it is on the M700s, it'll need to be 'fixed' to be right. That's just what I know about them.

These receivers will take a 700 trigger - but bolt release and maybe safety will need to be swapped out at a minimum. There are not a lot of aftermarket options for the Model 7, I will enjoy mine when I get all the pieces together - but next time I will use another action with more options for metal, trigger and stock.

I have a friend that makes single shot tube stocks for Palma type rifles. I will not need the bolt stop or safety.

Thinking I may buy one now.

Just the Bolt Stop, the safety is the same. I fitted one yesterday.
For Bottom Metal. PTG makes a smaller detachable AICS style polymer mag for .223 based cartridges, and a Standard AICS mag bottom metal for .308 style cartridges. I have the Polymer set up, and so far in buildup, it seems to feed fine.
I plan on using mine to build a .223 prone/xtc gun so since I will be single loading, OAL is not important to me as my short range ammo will cycle in the mag and my 600 yard stuff is single loaded.

Anyone that purchased one of these actions and don't want to put $$ into fixing them, drop me a line if you care to sell. I'm in the process of making a truing jig and want a project action that I can true, time and build a custom hunting Gun off of. Just checked Brownells and the sale is over!

Chuck, Here's a complete rifle: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=492643934

For the ridiculous prices being paid on ebay for .308 barrels, you could probably end up getting the action and bottom metal for a couple hundred bucks. Additionally, the action won't have "300 AC" stamped on it either and the barrel is threaded & ready for brake or can.

Brownell's isn't the only place with a pallet of these, look around. Sounds like some company was going to make a bunch of 300 blackout rifles and quit before they started, they're all marked 300 AAC Blackout.
