Broughton barrels

Maybe a Mike Ezell crafted tuner would help to equalize my Broughton barrels ;D
If a tuner fixes it, it wasn't a barrel problem in the first place. ;D
Not that it was needed, but, that was a plug for your tuners and craftsmanship ;)
Thank you for the plug, sir. I certainly mean no ill will toward you with my post. I've used several Broughtons, as well as most every make of barrels. I wish I could tell you what makes a great one, but I've seen very good barrels from most every top maker.
My reply about tuners was mostly in response to confusion about what they can and can't do. They can't fix bad barrels, unfortunately.

I know some guys dont believe it especially short range shooters, but there are differences between 100 and 1k. What a barrel will do at 100 means nothing if your talking 1k shooting. A great example is Bartlien. A friend of mine and excellent gunsmith loves them. He says thay are the best barrels dimensional and they do very well in the short range game. But you couldnt give me one for 1k. I have never seen a great one. A Kreiger will out shoot them every time. Now I am talking perfect conditions when you can really tell 1-2" groups. Same goes for bullets. I cant tell you how many times I hear how this load shoots 0s at 100 but its 5"+ at 1k. Most think its the condition or them. But a load or bullet will not perform the same at different distances, and it has nothing to do with es. Broughton is my favorite button barrel. But when you look at the cost I dont know why anyone would buy a button barrel. For the same cost you can buy a cut barrel.

I seem to recall Matt Kline shooting a 1000 yard record with a Broughton barrel :o

Ask Tony Boyer how many HOF points he accumulated using Broughton barrels 8)

They're all good. Luck of the draw.
