Broughten Barrel test

Did 6BR ever do this test?

Our first 5C® 6mm barrels are scheduled to be delivered in late September. We are all anxious to see if the 5C® land design works as well in the smaller caliber as it does for the .264 (6.5mm) and .308 bore sizes. We'll be shipping one of the very first 8-twist 6mm 5C® barrels to 6mmBR.com in September, and they'll be doing some field testing, comparing its performance to a conventionally-rifled 1:8 barrel."

If you are really going to test any barrel one should examine it with a bore scope prior to doing any machining to it. Then one should slug it for uniformity. This will give you a lot of critical information telling you what you really have before the barrel is altered and/or fired. They are simple test to perform.

The aforementioned is just as critical as using a chronograph when testing.

Well, 1 of the barrels from back in that time frame is actually still on my 6BR (Gun of the Week #70) and running strong after about 2400rds...and has a pile of small groups under its belt at 1000yds.

Never did any real comparison vs. conven. lands with that rifle, but it sure does shoot well ;)
