Brno Fox rifle conversian 204 or 223?

Hi all i have the opertunity to purchase a Brno Fox rifle they are about 30 years old and came in 222 rem. It is the right price and has the set triggers. The barrel is shagged and the stock needs refinishing but i am wondering if anyone knows the thread dimentions on the Brno Fox and what way would you go 204 or 223?

If it has a 1" 16tpi thread i will likely buy a new Ruger chambered barrel here in Australia and they come in 9 twist in 223 or in 204 so there is an easy cost effective budget plinker for small animals and it is nice and lightweight. If the threads are diferent i can cut the tennon off the Ruger barrel and rechamber it to 223 but i dont have a 204 reamer at this stage but probably can get one to borrow.

Hi Bill
Just measured the barrel I have on the bench, 25mm x 1.25 . Same thread as the Krico centrefire actions. Hope that helps

Thanks Dave i have a 5.6X50 MAg barrel here it is an origonal Steyr barrel i was going to use on a Steyr SL but it was to early a model for the magazine length so i ctill have it. It is a shame about the mag length again as the barrel threads are the same. I think i will have to go with a 223 i should be able to fit the loaded rounds in the Fox mag and rechamber a Ruger stainless steel new barrel as i can get one new for just over $200 i will just set the barrel back and re thread the barrel and depen the chamber it should be good to go.
