Bridgeville Mid-Atlantic Long-Range Regional RESULTS

On September 26-28 Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club will be hosting our 'traditional' Mid-Atlantic Long-Range Regional Match
(with a few differences from what passes for normal around here...)
Due to our hosting of the F-Class Long-Range Fullbore National Matches in October, our September Regional Match will be a 'No Frills' match -but it is still a regional match! No frills unfortunately means no T-shirts and no prize table -I hope you understand.

Friday, September 26th will be an open practice, followed by TWO 4-Man Team Matches. (40 record shots total per shooter).

Saturday, September 27th will be a 3 x 1000 yard match, with 'Any Rifle/Any Sight' for the sling shooters, and our normal Palma, F-Class (Open and F-T/R) program. (60 record shots total)

Sunday, September 28th will be a 2 x 1000 yard match with 'Any Rifle/Iron Sights' for the sling shooters, and our normal Palma, F-Class (Open and F-T/R) program. (40 record shots total)

The match aggregate for individual shooters is for both days (100 shot aggregate match), and is V2 Friendly.

You can find the match bulletin here:

Hope to see you on the line!

Can I call the weather, or what? I sure had doubts that we were going to be able to pull this match off without getting wet, but we sure did!
What a great weekend to be on the range with friends, both old and new.
To that end, we need to welcome a few ‘new to us’ shooters –Vinnie Casazza, Gene Beliveau, and Greg Chapa. Welcome aboard guys! I hope you had a fun weekend, and that you will come back to shoot with us again soon.

Some highlights (for me anyway) about this match. It is great to see Jeff Hague back on the firing line, slung up again. Jeff has had a long layoff after some pretty serious shoulder surgery, and (in my opinion) is figuring it out again. Welcome back!

I was also super-Happy to see Chuck Richards (one of our long-time friends from Connecticut) do so well. Chuck has had to work through some issues with vision and things, but this weekend he fired a solid High Master score for the weekend, including a personal best of 199-10X from the 1000 yard line. Well done!

As always, many thank you’s are in order –to all the folks who helped with target setup and teardown –THANK YOU! Many hands make light work!

To Nikki and George, also a huge thank you for all the work they do at the range; grass cutting, porta-pooper moving, cooking (after washing up, I am sure :)), stat work, and all the rest.
What they do makes for a nice range experience. Please thank them the next time you see them.

OK, I know you want results…

In F-T/R it was once again the ‘Battle of the Todd’s’ –Todd Norfleet came out on top this time, only by two points but a good number of X’s, firing a 984-53X for the category win. Well done! Todd Strasavich took the #2 spot, firing a 982-33X –also, well done –that is some pretty good shooting guys! Jim Crofts was our Bronze winner, firing a nice 980-27X. Good Shooting! In the Master Class, Mike McNair fired a nice 198-8X on the second match of the day that I suspect is a personal best at 1000 yards. Nice going Mike!

OK, on to F-Open. In the #3 spot, Matt Basalla put up a very nice 995-63X score and earned a Bronze Medal. Well done, Matt! Gwen Basalla shot just a teeny-tiny bit better, posting a 996-52X and earning Silver. Well done, Gwen! You two should form a team or something, as you are both formidable shooters!

Earning the top spot in F-Open by dropping only one lousy point in a 1,000 point match was Henry Ferris, who posted a super-good 999-60X. I reminded him that there was room for improvement, as he left a few X’s on the table… Seriously, fantastic shooting, Henry!! It should be noted, that Henry took the F-Class overall win too. Really, it would be hard not to with THAT score…

In the Any Rifle category, Tom Snograss (my second favorite Marine), took the Bronze Medal, firing a nice 975-36X with a .223 Any Rifle –not too shabby, Tom! Bringing home the Silver Bacon was John Kiley, one of our other friends from Connecticut, who fired a nice 985-40X for that #2 spot. Well done, John! Always nice to have you and Chuck come to shoot with us! Taking the Gold and first place in Any Rifle was perennial good shooter, Jon Howell. Jon fired a solid 989-41X for the category win. Well done, Jon!

In Palma Rifle, the Bronze winner was Joe Fogg, who fired a very nice 988-47X with his iron sighted .308 and little bitty 155’s. Nice shooting Joe! The # 2 slot is occupied by Trevor Hengehold, who fired a really solid 993-54X for the Silver Medal –also with an iron sighted .308 and little bitty 155’s. I am noticing a trend here… Nice shooting, Trevor!! Taking home the Gold Medal, and the Overall Sling win, was Jerry McDonough, who fired a really nice 996-54X using HIS iron sighted .308 and little bitty 155’s, and beating the Any rifle guys in the process.

Jerry’s win isn’t a fluke, as he won the NRA Long-Range Championship this year over all comers, with his iron sighted .308 and little bitty 155’s. It apparently really ISN’T about the arrow… Great shooting, Jerry!

As I said, results are attached, and after a day or so to fix any errors that might pop up, they will be posted to the Club website. https://brpc-de.com/2025-high-power-match-results/

Our next match is scheduled to be a Mid-Range match weekend on October 11th and 12th. Saturday will feature firing at 300, 500, and 600 yards, while Sunday will be a 3 x 600 match –two day aggregate score.

After that, we will be hosting the 2025 NRA F-Class Long-Range Fullbore National Matches, beginning on October 22nd and running through October 26th .

Hope to see you on the firing line again soon!

Frank
