Brass toughness

I just learned a new way to test the hardness of brass. Obviously this piece of Hornady 308 brass failed the test miserably.
My in house tester a 1 yr. old pit bull brought the test piece to me while I was working in my shop.

Pitbulls are illegal in my Province. Ontario Canaduh

Mainly because of gangbangers gave them a bad name. And now that they're a illegal breed, it did nothing to stop gangbangers from breeding pitbulls and throwing pitbull fights.

I don't think the gangbangers give em a bad name- how many Dobermans or rottys have been banned from entire towns?

How about we throw some of the gangbangers in the ring and take bets on how long THEY will last!

I rescued this little girl from a crack house in a major city about 60 miles from me. (feel free to read in physically took her out of that environment). She was only 6-8 weeks old, and weighed 5-7 lb. They were feeding her adult dog food, and trying to make some fast money off of her. Now, at a year old, she is over 50 lbs. and other than having a lot of puppy energy that gets on my 8 year old male last nerve, she is about as mild mannered as you can get.

Dobermans and Rottweilers are banned at the same rate around here as pitbulls (not at the state level, but in rental housing). There are some bad pitbulls out there, and I have owned one. Had to put him down because he had an unpredictable aggression toward certain people that even the trainers couldn't figure out. He was a bad seed, and that happens in all breeds. I think the problem with pitbulls is that a large percentage of the owners who seek them out as pets, are not good pet owners. The result is a powerful breed that is not fixed, has not been well-trained, and may have been bred for the pit instead of being a family pet. You can't blame the breed, but you also can't blame the genuine concern.

My current girl is the best of all worlds. I consider her a rescue because I saved her from a guy who looked like an Amish meth addict. She was sold as a Newfy/Border Collie/Lab mix, and that's what she looked like at 8 weeks. As you can see from the pic . . . not a chance. On the flip side, she is loving, obedient, has a 6-foot vertical leap (literally), scares the life out of anyone who would dare break into my house (even though she would never harm anyone unless under serious threat), and she is a natural bird flusher. She may have some pit in her, but I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Wont own any other breed. Wonderful dogs. Its too bad they look scary with a big chain around their neck. Banning scary looking things, pit bulls and pistol grips....
