I recently shot around 80 rounds of .243 lapua,.243 ackley fireformed) brass while testing loads and target shooting. Some of the loads were definately too hot with flat primers, sharp edged primers and shiny ejector marks. I backed off a grain of the h414 that didn't show pressure and loaded about 40. For some strange reason after I got to shooting, the pressure signs reappeared. Flatter primers and ejector marks. They shot fairly well, so I went ahead and used them. After loading these shells again, my groups have gone to heck. Everything else is the same. Same powder, bullet, seating etc. My question is, can some of the brass that was shot too hot be causing my problems? Any recommendations? Should I pitch anything with an ejector mark? I am sending the .117 dtac out of the .243 ackley at around 3050 fps. Thanks in advance for any help.
