Brass Roller

Saw an interesting demonstration of a hand cranked roller that rolls the "click" out of brass. A bit pricey but what the hey, It's only the Nursing home's money.

Picked one up to address clickers in .284 Shehane. Worked like a charm. Didn’t plan on using it for other shells, but it also took the “Rossi bulge” out of the .357 Mag cases fired in a Rossi R92, so those cases can be reloaded and used in my revolvers as well. You’re right, pricy, but useful if/when you take the plunge. :)

Allot of Competition handgunners been roll sizing for years. Helps to insure there are no irregularities in brass dimensions. Gets rid of the case bulge when case was fired in unsupported chamber (Glock Bulge).

Agree, there is nothing new about roll-sizing.

I helped redesign roll-size machines for friends who ran indoor ranges back in the 80s and I had the feeling those machines were around long before I saw them. These were what I would call cottage industry products compared to the other parts of the reloading process for gun ranges that reloaded their own brass.

That You tube video was very well presented. I've had my share of clickers, but I'm not one who usually pushes the brass to the extreme limits. For those that do - this is a cool product, I think. Looks very well designed and well made. One thought that came to mind was if I had designed it, I'd have had the roller not extend contact up to the junction of where the brass base melds into the brass case wall which is where case separations occur. While case separations are normally a result of excess headspace, I can't help but think that if a guy always pushed his loads to needing to use this regularly - it is going to thin that junction - potentially resulting in thinner brass at that juncture. It seems to me the roller is only needed in that lowest area not hit at all by the sizing die. Not trying to be a downer on this product - just wondering.

Neat product....At nearly 1K it will take a while for it to pay for itself, but it would definitely help pass the time in the northern states over the winter.......Another GREAT video from John.....Thanks for putting it out there,

Regards
Rick

Have had their DC model for a couple of years. I use it on 40S&W and 9mm. I use a case feeder so I just set it up ands it cranks brass out.
