but I have never noticed a difference in accuracy using casings that barely let you close the bolt, vs ones that are freshly trimmed to minimum.
Closing the bolt and case length and then I said the case has two lengths, one from the end of the neck to the case head and from the datum/shoulder to the case head; and no one said anything. There is a third length that would be from the shoulder datum to the mouth of the case. But, that is too much to keep up with because it gets complicated.
Complicated: I have a chamber that is .016" longer than a minimum length/full length sized case from the shoulder to the bolt face. That would be .011" longer than a go-gage length chamber and or .002" longer than a field reject length chamber.
I understand there are very few that understand what I am talking about but If I trimmed the cases according to reloaders on this forum the case neck of my cases would be trimmed too short. I add the .011" to the trim length of the case because I am the fan of covering the chamber with the case.
It would seem manufacturers have wasted their time manufacturing case trimmers that set up on the shoulder when trimming the neck. For those that can keep up the distance from the datum to the end of the neck is the third length.
